Falk Hirdes - Introductions

Exhibition at Haus im Schluh / Heinrich-Vogeler-Sammlung
19 November 2017 to 4 March 2018

A cube made of neon yellow cords, suspended from its eight corners - this installation is realized and photographed in different rooms, mostly hotel rooms somewhere on the earth.

The artist Falk Hirdes: "The idea behind the series is the discovery of foreign spaces by adding, inserting another space. This is best described for me by the English word "introduction": both an introduction and a presentation. Add something to the strange space. To get to know it and its possibilities and restrictions and to conquer them at the same time. [...] The act itself is for me the most interesting. The process. The hanging of the cube under the conditions which the space pretends to me and the subsequent photographic exploration of the newly created space in space."

In an action, Falk Hirdes will induce his "Suspended Cube" in the Haus im Schluh. In addition to the space project, photographs and 360-degree representations can be downloaded via QR code.
